After 19 years of gracing West Lafayette with colorful creations and fragrant memories, Rubia Flower Market is taking an exciting step forward! We’re thrilled to announce that we’re moving to a new location in March of 2024, and we can’t wait to welcome you at our new home.
We have leased our current space on State Street in West Lafayette for 19 years since we opened in 2004. After almost as many years of speculation, a project for redevelopment is finally being realized here on State Street.
For about a year now, so many of you have asked (and asked! and asked!) what our plans are now that the Levee is slated for redevelopment. The short answer: We’re moving!
Our New Space
After six months of serious searching, an opportunity became available to purchase the buildings located at 2139 Ferry Street in Lafayette. Many of you will recognize them as the home for 30 years of Samson and Delilah’s salon, the former studio space for Pink Lotus Yoga, and, most recently, Art with a Happy Heart.
It will be a change, certainly. However, I think the new location will allow us to continue to offer Greater Lafayette an elevated version of the unique shopping experience they have come to expect from Rubia Flower Market.
Opportunities for Growth
As I’ve stated in other outlets, the chance to own property was irresistible. Especially a property that was as unique and recognizable as our future home on Ferry Street! Think beyond ordinary arrangements– Our new location features a house where the majority of our retail sales will occur, a small lean-to greenhouse and patio that will allow us to expand our plant offerings, and a separate studio that will allow for more efficient production of larger event orders. The studio building will also be our new location for our floral design classes, which have been so popular since their return in 2023!
This relocation isn’t just about bricks and mortar; it’s about opening a new chapter in the Rubia story. We’re grateful for the unwavering support of our little shop over the past two decades, and we can’t wait to embark on this journey with you.
And don’t be sad about our new zip code… The plan is to open a satellite location near campus in late 2024/early 2025!
